P1 - Initial Ideas

INITIAL IDEAS

IDEA 1:

This idea is based around a support group of people who have been sexually assaulted. We see the attitudes they have to each other's experiences to educate the audience on harmful stereotypes within the community. The disruption of the show would be when a man comes into the support group (previously of women) and talks about his experiences, which leads to a sequence of events within the group.

IDEA 2:

This idea follows a support group for disabled people in a small town. We see a small group of individuals struggle with growing up with a disability, in a small town that isn't adjusted to cater to them.

IDEA 3:

This idea follows a girl who is sexually assaulted by her brothers best friend. We see her struggling with coming to terms with this as well as growing up.

FEEDBACK:

IDEA 1: This feedback needs to tell me I need to focus on the narrative of this idea and think more about the specific plot. Following a number of different main characters will make it hard for me to do this, so if I choose this idea I will need to focus on making a clear story and simplifying it to make it clear to the audience. I might want to make each character in the support group play a different character role rather than them all being main characters.

IDEA 2: This feedback is telling me that my idea focuses on serious topics. It is also telling me that I will have a large range of diversity in my show. This is something I may have difficulty casting for on such a small scale, so I may have to set aside a large portion of the budget on actors if I am making this show.

IDEA 3: This feedback is asking what the clear narrative is. This is something I am still trying to work out, so it is useful that I know to carry on working on this. I'm basing this idea on a book so I need to look at changing some of the elements of the book to fit in with the TV platform and the audience of BBC.
